Situated in western Uganda along the border with the Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwenzori Mountains National Park protects the legendary “Mountains of the Moon.” Covering 996 square kilometers, it was gazetted in 1991 and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The park features Africa’s third-highest peak, Margherita (5,109m), and dramatic alpine landscapes with glaciers, waterfalls, and unique vegetation zones. It is a premier destination for serious mountain hiking and trekking.
