Queen Elizabeth National Park

Located in western Uganda, Queen Elizabeth National Park is Uganda’s most visited savanna park, spanning about 1,978 square kilometers.

Established in 1952 and renamed after Queen Elizabeth II’s visit, it is part of a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.

The park features diverse habitats including savanna, wetlands, and forest, with the famous Kazinga Channel connecting Lake George and Lake Edward. It is renowned for its high concentration of hippos, elephants, and tree-climbing lions in the Ishasha sector.

With over 95 mammal species and more than 600 bird species, Queen Elizabeth offers exceptional wildlife viewing and boat safaris.
